内容可能不成熟,大家多指正。
“I strongly support the extension of OPT, because this is a policy that strongly benefits the whole US technical industry, which is the only advantage US has now  to stay leading position in the world.. From 1point 3acres bbs

I don't think the US government’s decision should be kidnapped by the native workers and immigrants haters opinions. Once OPT is limited within 12 month without extension, the huge amount of STEM students will reconsider whether it is worthy to pay high tuition and living expenses to study in US. There are many severe results of this.

The first and most direct impact is economy. Huge amount of international students generate a huge amount of GDP and job opportunities by paying tuition, renting and daily expenses. Also the expensive tuitions keep the universities developing and remain the bloom of higher education. It is so hard to deny that once the number of international students decrease, the employment rate of these areas won't be affected.

Secondly, the whole tech industry will definitely face a severe shortage of talented young technical workers with good education looking for entry level job without too high salary requirement. The  key of tech firms, is creative, energetic talented young people.  And the job market should always be free and competitive, which keeps the industry developing healthy. One can not complain about the losing his job because he’s not working  as hard as other competitors.. 1point 3acres

More importantly, now countries around the world are trying to get their students come back from USA to make contribution to their own country. From the perspective of keeping international competition position, US government should not send these students back before they make enough contribution here.

Regard few citizen technical workers who only considering their own interest without thinking in a high level for the interest of whole American industry. I firmly believe the opt is a great policy benefiting both America high tech industry and international students, which also demonstrates that America has always been playing the role of the most strong responsible country in the world.”

Hey, why being so unfriendly to our technical guests who will absolutely bring the balmy improvement to our nation. I really support the opportunity that our foreign friends can make contributions to our homeland.

I support this extension policy because it meet American people's benefit. . 1point 3acres

The extension policy will not add the number of H1B and green card given out each year, and will not increase the total number of long-term residence in the United States. Those who are working using a OPT extension are young people with healthy body and great energy. They pay their tax and insurance  but no one use old-age pension or seldom use their healthy insurance. What they are creating is much more than what they are consuming for this society. How stupid we are to get these young people out off the USA?

I STRONGLY agree with the OPT stem's extension rule for the following reasons:

From the perspective of U.S government, first,we could see that right now, the major economic driver of this country is its innovation in technology. A lot of international students graduating from U.S universities are currently working on their OPT and OPT extension for these tech companies. According to the related reports by United States Department of Education, the job growth in STEM related areas could be expected to expand by approximately 14%-62% from 2010 to 2020. We could tell a clearly strong demand for employers working in the field of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. And at the same time, there is no obvious evidence that show native Americans would prefer to participating in these related jobs. Even if there is, compared to the strong number, I would say tech companies would require many more tech people either domestic or overseas. Consider the situation that companies have to search talents from other countries, how much more money you have to pay for a personnel and how would you keep your companies top commercial secretes if you hire a lot of people from various countries who are not working within the United States simply because you have ruled against the OPT extension rule?

. From 1point 3acres bbs
Second, people who are blaming the new rule for increasing competitions with native Americans, lowering national wages because of unpaid work and avoid paying taxes for the U.S government. I would say that STEM jobs are mental intensive, not labor intensive. From my own experience, I am competing with other international students instead of Americans. Whether you admit or not, the world is fierce and always capable person could get the job. You shouldn't blame others for your incapability. In terms of national wages, although graduates could do unpaid jobs and avoid paying social security tax, they are still contributing to the revival of this country and are not benefited from certain rights.
.1point3acres
From the perspective of international students themselves, U.S universities would still be on the top notch of our choosing lists. Since graduating, we have the opportunities to work longer and gain more experience. We paid a lot of tuition and we would certainly balance of advantages and disadvantages if we are only allowed to work 1 year after graduation, we should consider the relevant risk. And America may not be our first choice when we are choosing our schools and futures.
