Ok, let's just put it straight. As a united country with 46 million immigrant population and aggregating one fifth of the worlds immigrants, shutting down the border or gateway to the foreigners might an effective measure to the terrorists, but failing to provide opportunity to good smart people such as STEM student who pursue the virtue and science? Once the reputation is broken, it will be impossible to fix in the foreseeable term. Do the math!

I support the new extension policy because it meets the founding spirit and the fundamental interests of the USA.

First, the reason why USA is the first choice to pursue higher education for many excellent young people all around the world is not only because of the quality of education but also of the chance of acquiring actual working experience in the US after graduation. However, only one year is not an enough time for many projects and programs to complete. It is at least three years’ working experience to improve people’s working ability and competitiveness in an industry field. As we know, there is no enough HIB positions for international students to work in the US. Many international graduates use         OPT and OPT extensions to keep their works in the US. If cancel the extension of OPT many young people may choose study in some other countries or just choose to work at their home country but not to pursue a further study in the USA. Then American Universities may lose a lot of high quality international students, their tuition fees and other expense.  Moreover, if U.S.A lose its attraction to those excellent students, their education quality and research capabilities which is very important to the creativity of the American society would be strongly affected.

Second, STEM students are most needed people of American industry and this society. More competition provides higher quality employees for American companies. Reducing such competition will affect employee quality of such companies which would affect both the improvement of American companies and the development of the whole American economy. Actually those high quality international students in STEM do not reduce the working opportunities for Americans but create more jobs for Americans.

To encourage competition, is the driving force of a society. To use more open relaxed policies to attract talents from all over the world to build and serve in the United States, is the reason why USA is the strongest country in the world. To encourage and provide chance for young people change their lives through hard working, to create a more equal, free country is the spirit of U.S.A and is the reason why USA is a great country.

I strongly support the new regulations regarding Improving and Expanding Training Opportunities for F-1 Nonimmigrant Students With STEM Degrees and Cap-Gap Relief for All Eligible F-1 Students.

There has been extensively research about whether international STEM students have contributed significantly to the economic growth and technology development in the US in last several years. The results of those research show that the international STEM students did make and will still make contributions to this country.

As we all know, the United States has welcomed immigrants and refugees from around the world into this nation, enhancing diversity, culture, and economy. For a group of people, who has received high-quality STEM education, would be able to enhance the economy consistently. However, if they cannot be provided enough time and chance to work for the United States, it would produce an unpredictable huge loss for this country. Furthermore, in addition to the economic reason, it is also worth mentioning the potential loss in government's trustiness of the United States. The reason why so many young students would love to pursue their dreams in this country is that we believe that this country welcomes us and would be able to provide us enough chance to present our talents. However, if even STEM students cannot get enough chances to work in the United States, this might be seen as a signal that the United States no longer welcomes the talented people who would love to contribute to this country. As a result, a potential huge loss is around the corner.

Providing more chances to STEM international students is also beneficial to the US citizens. Firstly, almost all the STEM international students just take up the positions which are in lack of competent US citizens/permanent residents. Moreover, as STEM international students contribute to the economic development of this country, the welfare for the US citizens will also improve.

All in all, I strongly support the regulation of Improving and Expanding Training Opportunities for F-1 Nonimmigrant Students With STEM Degrees and Cap-Gap Relief for All Eligible F-1 Students. And I also firmly believe that the US government is able to make the right decision to protect  at current stage.

I STRONGLY SUPPORT THE OPT EXTENSION RULE FOR THE REASONS BELOW:

Firstly, Immigration can never stop in this country! The Mexicans will even dig holes in the ground to come here! Americans, wake up! Do you want those low educated people in our country or some highly educated smart people?

Secondly, STEM students are doing the hardest or most unwanted jobs. Americans, wake up! STEM students are not taking away jobs from Americans, but help building America. Just like Mexican immigrants do the worst labor job, STEM students can hardly find jobs or are usually doing the most intense IT related job. The good jobs are already taken by Americans! The STEM job opportunities are very limited. STEM students are taking the toughest jobs to stay in America! And those jobs also need to be completed by someone!

Last but not least, companies will not lower bars for unqualified worker but relocate overseas. Companies cannot afford to hire the UNQUALIFIED people!They would rather rebuild their technology center in India or China to hire the correct and cheaper engineers other than hiring incapable people here. Engineers hold the responsibility of public safety. Do you really want UNQUALIFIED engineers to build your car and will you dare to drive the car around? Do you want UNQUALIFIED engineers to build bridges that would collapse overtime? We cannot afford any of those! We need the smartest people to design the BEST products here in America, and STRENGTHEN the MADE IN AMERICA brand! It is not the American engineers are worst, it is more of the more smart and talented people we have in this country, the stronger the country will be!

For the above reasons, I WHOLEHEARTEDLY SUPPORT the OPT EXTENSION PROPOSAL.
