I support this OPT rule.
1. I did my software developer summer internship in a tech startup in NYC named Upraised Learning. The CEO Jeff Mathew said he really wants me to return and work for them after my graduation. It's hard nowadays to find a great software engineer, if we international students have no OPT extension, the situation would be worse. But if we have 1+2 years OPT, we can have more time contribute to the real industry and America's economy. Take Upraised Learning as an example, we build education management application for unprivileged areas and students to help schools, parents and students to get more and better education resources. If this OPT rule approved, I would get more chance to work for Upraised Learning in the future which will help them to build better application and help more unprivileged families in USA. And I will gather more work experience before I return to my home country, which is a win-win.
2. I live in Monaco apartment, Jersey City. Our leasing manager told us that at least half residents are from China and India, they are international students or work here with OPT or H1B. If the OPT rule denied, it will be a bad impact to the estate renting market in New York Metro area. Also, local restaurants, movie theaters and other business need these international people.

As we all know, United States is famous for its high technology that leads the world. And it is the loosed immigrant policy, which attracts so many promising international students, makes the achievement possible. Combining with hardworking quality of International students and excellent American education, those students are ready to serve american high-tech company. Otherwise, United States will lose these students after teaching them, which would make everything in vain.

Second, high-tech is not a zero-sum game. With more high quality students participating, the more opportunities will be provided. In this global economy era, it is actually a war of elites---every country is looking for promising and hardworking students world-wide. The country with more elites will make more progress and economy achievement. Therefore, by attracting more STEM students working in United States, can it be keep leading the world high-tech and economy.

So extending the OPT for STEM students and giving them enough window is equal to giving United States more opportunities to progress and developing.
