urbanization -  Vast urbanization in China has inflated housing price to an unbelievable height.

cult (care)
culture, cultivate, cultivation
acculturation - First generation immigrants usually could not fully acculturate; but their children usually not only acquires the new culture, but often refuses to learn the old ways.
cross-cultural - a large scale cross cultural study revealed race specific traits that could improve prognosis of CVD in hispanics.
horticulture - There's an amateur horticulturist in my household.
subculture - with the wide spread of internet chatrooms and forums like this, there are numerous subcultures this day and age.

demo (people)
democracy
demographic - the forum appeals specifically to the 18-25-year-old demographic currently receiving higher education.
endemic - generous sharing and open-mindedness is endemic among young intellectuals who frequent this forum.
demagogue - someone who preaches what he does not believe to people he believes to be idiots...
demotic - the demotic music bands comprise a blend of cross cultural music groups.

popul (people)
population, popular
populist - a believer in rights, wisdom and virtue of the common peopole.  
populace - (the mass) You can give out all A's and make sure the populace will like you, or you can do what you believe is right  contrary to vox populi.
populous - numerous. China and India are the most populous countries. (?)
vox populi - (popular sentiment) there maybe wisdom in the crowds by taking an average of the vox populi, but the crowd could also be riotous.
