发狂了，MSU的PS和AS

和去年申上的学弟通了一通电话，他们去年还只要一份PS。现在系统又要AS又要PS，我把PS拆开怎么读违和感怎么重，而且

AS要求的这一段：
Briefly describe key experiences that led you to graduate studies. Examples might include research experiences, internships, coursework or extracurricular activities.

PS要求的这一句：
describe how your background and life experiences – including social, economic, cultural, familial, educational, or other opportunities or challenges – motivated your decision to pursue a graduate degree.

我了个去，这不都是一回事情嘛。。。。不知道在PS和AS里有一模一样的一段话不知道行不行。

我再问问我学弟吧，看看交一篇PS能不能行。。。。。

UMICH也是要两份PS，不得不多准备了一份= =|| 和这个要求一模一样。。

那么恶心。话说AS是什么的缩写？

I don't see your department request an Academic Statement for the applicaiont.Only Statement of Purpose and Resume is optional. I plan to upload my Resume and SOP,but I have no idea about the Academic Statement.I think I have include some information related in my SOP. So is the Academic Statement necessary for the applicaiont?

We ask for a history of your Math Statistics background. We do not require SOP or Resume but you may list if you wish.

I know I must upload my Math Stat courses summary form in the GISM.
So you mean the Resume, SOP, and the Academic Statement are all optional and not necessary?
I may upload what I want and it is ok?And it means they do not make a big difference in my application?

You are correct. I can't see if it will make a big difference. If the additional information is very favorable to your application it might be good to upload it. But unless it gives you a huge plus it is not necessary.
