有谁知道哥大的Nikola Tesla Electrical Engineering Scholar是什么东西？

刚刚收到一个哥大发来的PDF，有这么一段话：I am especially pleased to notify you that, in recognition of your distinctly superior academic record, you have been accorded the exceptional honor of being designated a Nikola Tesla Electrical Engineering Scholar*. This honor is conferred upon only a very small number of only the most brilliant and exceptional applicants to our graduate program. On several occasions during the year, the Scholars will meet with each other and with the EE faculty in celebration of their extraordinary achievements.


Nikola Tesla Electrical Engineering Scholar是什么东西，感觉像是实验班性质什么的。要不就是所有人都是Nikola Tesla Electrical Engineering Scholar？ 反正我看清楚了不是scholarship

顺便报下目前的结果吧，申了21个学校，只有NUS一个非美国，除了哥大其他都是PhD。

地里第一帖，告别潜水党身份，报结果真心求OFFER。。。本来申哥大的MS是因为听说它水，被名校拒没什么损失，要了还能提升下信心。现在虽然不知道Nikola Tesla Electrical Engineering Scholar是什么东西，但感觉很厉害的样子，诱惑有点大，但是哥大真心怕读不起啊。。。

    You already know of the world-renowned electrical engineering faculty, research, laboratory facilities, academic program, libraries, and other resources at Columbia University: Our 24 full-time faculty currently conduct a multitude of world-renowned research projects. The faculty’s research impact has been recognized with numerous professional awards and fellowships, as well as by memberships in the National Academies. Our faculty also have excellent teaching records, with several faculty having received University and IEEE teaching awards. Our facilities are modern, with state-of-the-art tools for education and research.
    I want to point out the access you will have to not only your special technical interests in electrical engineering but also to the offerings in other departments of the School of Engineering and of the University. In addition, you will have opportunities to explore the cultural treasures of New York City just beyond the campus.
    The EE Department and the Engineering School arrange a number of social events to provide opportunities for students to get to know each other. We are confident you will enjoy your time as a graduate student in our department. If you have submitted all the necessary documents to the Admissions Office, you should receive the official admissions packet shortly.

另外楼主，我觉得不会是实验班吧。。研究生都各选各的课，不会在一起吧。。。
