也许有的老师未必说读phd要work long hours，但是都会说要有激情。有了激情，当然就彻底的投入，work hard了。还看过有个老师在主页上公开说，希望学生work hard for 6 days or 6.5 days a week，剩下的半天给你shopping买生活必需品。

writing skills的确很重要，美国老师要在国际学生身上花费额外多的时间来修改论文

All the answers were "I don't know" ... Because they were always working.... orz
My TA once told me that he had to force himself be off one day. Otherwise there would be no time for laundry, grocery, etc.

恩。。学习一个。。话说国内读个硕士，我们学校的师兄都是晚上12点出实验室。。我又不聪明，再比别人干活少，咋出成绩么。。呵呵。。

还有我觉得critical thinking最做研究也很重要

被老板逼着一周工作6天，一天12小时以上，也没什么效率
