马里兰大学ECE系今年继续免除PhD申请费

马里兰大学帕克分校（University fo Maryland, College Park）拥有全美排名第18名、公立学校排名第9的ECE PhD Program。今年，该系将继续免除Fall 2018入学的PhD申请费。申请人必须在12月16日前提交申请。
马大本月刚刚收到校友A. James Clark价值2.195亿美元的捐助，这也是马大历史上收到的最大一笔校友捐助，也是美国公立大学收到的最大金额的捐助之一。这笔捐款将主要用于STEM相关专业，将极大地促进马大STEM科研水平的进一步提升。

Dear Colleagues

As the Associate Chair for Graduate Affairs in the ECE department of University of Maryland, I am writing to inform you of exciting news from the A. James Clark School of Engineering at the University of Marylandand hope that you will share this news with your graduating students.

On October 4, 2017, President Wallace Loh announced a transformative investment from the A. James & Alice B. Clark Foundation of $219.5 million to the University of Maryland and Clark School of Engineering. This gift, the largest we ever received and one of the largest to an American public university, will impact our university for years to come. It will support doctoral students, endow faculty chairs, build state-of-the-art facilities, and so much more. I encourage you to read more about this extraordinary gift at buildingtogether.umd.edu

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering is always looking for talented and motivated PhD students. Needless to say that the generosity of Clark foundation will help make substantial investments in our research enterprise. Last year we had waived our application fee to encourage top students to apply to our PhD program. This year we will continue to offer PhD application fee waivers. I’ve attached a flyer with more information. The flyer also includes a link to a virtual open house which will allow your students to learn more about our graduate programs from our department chair, a faculty panel, a student panel, and Graduate Studies Office staff members.

谢谢学长提供信息，太及时了。请问贵校PHD录取，是先录取委员会筛再导师筛、完全录取委员会筛还是完全导师决定，想知道第一封信发到哪合适。如能回复，非常感谢。
