原来我不在Umass的统计MS的WL上啊，邮件意思理解错了，浪费我感情！

上一封邮件说：

“Thank you for your email.
We have made offers to the highest rated applicants
and have set up our first, short waiting list. Your application is
below, but close to, the cutoff for that waiting list.
From past experience, I don't think that we will know for sure until
mid-April, when people
who have received offers are supposed to let us know. So please be
patient. We will contact you as soon as we make a decision on your
application.”

只怪我眼太瞎，一直以为在他家WL上，还觉得希望挺大。

昨天又发邮件问了，今天回我说:

"Thanks for your email.
First, I would like to clarify your status.
If you look at the my previous email (see below), I did not say that you are on the waiting list.
What I said is

"  Your application is below, but close to, the cutoff for that waiting list ".

We have not heard from admitted students and the deadline is April 15th.
From past experience, I don't think that we will know for sure until mid-April.
Thus, it is unlikely that we will be making you an offer during the next few weeks.  So if you
have an offer from a reasonable school, you might be better off accepting it.
Before you do, though, you may want to check if they have signed
the Council of Graduate School's resolution on deadlines:

Universities that have signed this resolution are supposed to give students
until April 15 to decide.”

好吧，我觉得这基本就是非常委婉的拒信了。

他家统计MS和PHD是各种奇怪有木有！从来没见到过报OFFER或REJ，一堆人在WL上。现在才真相大白，WL基本就是REJ吧。

到底有没有中国人去他家统计PHD和MS啊，来说说啥情况啊~

听这口气好像是offer已经发了？他家是不是网申系统不更新然后mail结果啊？我申他家状态还是applied，楼主你给谁发邮件问的？方便给个地址么？我打算周一问问

daeyoung@math.umass.edu ，他今天好像上班的。刚回我。网申系统一直都是APPLIED。得先发email过去。offer肯定已经发了一波了，在等前面人withdraw。但是好像没拒过人。

和LZ情况一样的飘过，完全不知他家录了什么人

没错，我也是这个邮件，一开始我也理解为WL了，一问发现不是，秘书真奇怪，不是WL，说得像在WL一样....还说“We will contact you as soon as we make a decision on your application”其实decision已经很明显了

为什么我给小蜜发邮件询问状态都不了我，桑心死了。

PhD 被拒。。。 神龙出现吧！！！

我也申了这个学校 也是applied的啊。。。
