其实，其实，lz不用这么激动，被拒是狠狠狠狠正常的事情，和别人比较这些背景意义不大了。申请中其他变量太多了，当然argue一下是应该的，只是要淡定。

下面是一个教授的回复：

In your application you stated firstly that your goal is
to continue research on optical information processing.
Unfortunately, we have no faculty at UM who are working
on optical information processing (since Prof. Leith
died a couple years ago) and we have not been able to
offer any of the courses (such as statistical optics)
that he used to teach.  Frankly, Arizona and Rochester
are much better schools for the specific area of optical
information processing than UM.  So part of the reason
you were not accepted is that there is not a good match
between your stated primary interest and our program.


不知道是不是这个原因……申请硕士方向很重要吗？既然申请了，肯定不会不match啊……
