2年前就决定要申请出国,拖拖拉拉地在硕士期间几乎就是把上课和研究做好了,文书、套磁、选校完全没有准备。浑浑噩噩地过了九月,十月终于决定要摆脱逃避现实的状态,认真投入申请的工作里。

背景先简单列一下,之后再求定位贴大概还会再问问……定位贴http://www.1point3acres.com/bbs/thread-40970-1-1.html

定位:保50,冲20-30;stanford是dream school,人生完整一下,听了dan boneh的视频课,我已经拜倒了。

现在所在的学校的密码学方向在全国的非军工类学校的计算机系里是top的,但是国内做的密码方向和国外做的截然不同,学术套套看吧。

前两天听了几个大学过来做博士宣讲。比起一定、必须要出国读博,我现在改变了想法——必须去那些我读过论文之后,我想继续做的那些方向。宁可少申请一些学校,务必让自己在国外“流放”是有意义的。不过,这样一来,之前泛泛查找的只有对方向有描述的那些选校,要推翻重来了。有些强委员会的学校大概会保留。

明天的目标是写RL的草稿。在地里找了好多资料攒着,明天看。

本周的目标是每天至少一套,套着套着,争取套出经验来。

终于终于写完了第一个推荐人的RL draft。早晨起来把地里所有材料都过了一遍,全部指向一个准则:be honest, be specific, be eye-catching. 给自己列了个brag sheet,回顾了下之前的2年;和老师们的交集好少,以后要致力于增加存在感!

也不知道有没有直接夸学术上有创造力的,先写着吧。

今天的目标套磁还没完成,看文章中…… fighting, fighting!

UCLA的crypto也太难了……看标题完全不知道在说什么……尤其是偏complexity的那位教授

今天看的columbia的教授文章是survey,发表在一个挺水的会上,里面符号和描述不少错误。-baidu 1point3acres
survey不能用来套,倒是看了之后积累了不少背景知识。

明天的目标:
1继续看crypto12.1point3acres
2列一下目前哪几家学校在做tweakable block cipher
3继续看columbia的教授的另一篇paper
