报一个家属香港h4转F1签证dp

背景：h4转f1，MS data science，香港身份
家属原本预约12/24香港签证，结果临飞前被cancelled，改成12/27面签..
面试问题：
办什么签证
为什么选hk签证
为什么之前办H4..

提供材料：护照，I20，study plan，CV，Financial support

给了黄条补材料..因为I-20上country of birth应该是China，但是写成了HK..留下护照和I-20..如果SEVIS record updated就可以issue..
正好赶上圣诞元旦..再加上时差..2号学校office开门才联系上学校..SEVIS的系统没有马上更新status..最后周一才收到大使馆的confirmation email在finalize process
timeline：
12/27:面试，updated
1/6: 材料补齐， updated
1/7: issued，ready for pickup
