In 1995, after an absence of nearly 70 years, wolves were reintroduced into Yellowstone National Park. During the wolf-free era, heavy browsing of aspen(白杨,刚背的GRE词汇) trees by elk (麋鹿,我不认识) population spelled doom (GRE词汇,招致厄运,我不认识的) not only for trees themselves but for a host of other creatures dependent on them, such as beavers (海狸,还是海獭,反正就是表情包很火的那个搓眼睛的玩意儿), whose population in Yellowstone crashed after wolves were removed. Without beavers to create ponds, wetland ecosystems---aquatic (托福词汇,水生的) plants, amphibians (托福词汇,两栖动物), birds, were devastated (托福出现过,摧毁). When wolves returned, grazers (托福词汇,食草动物,词根graze 吃草,放养) and browsers resumed normal patterns of behaviors, preferring safer, open areas over the dense cover and streamsides where carnivores (托福词汇,食草动物) can lurk (不认识的,潜伏). Keeping elk wary (不认识的 机警的) and on the move, wolves gave aspen and other young trees the opportunity to grow and become reestablished.
They were adversely affected by the feeding habits of the elk population
They have rebounded since the reintroduction of wolves..
----------------------------
The author would most likely agree with which of the following claims about the reintroduction of wolves to Yellowstone?
It reduced the number of elk feeding along streamsides.
-------------------------------
During the wolf-free era, heavy browsing of aspen(白杨,刚背的GRE词汇) trees by elk (麋鹿,我不认识) population spelled doom (GRE词汇,招致厄运,我不认识的) not only for trees themselves but for a host of other creatures dependent on them, such as beavers (海狸,还是海獭,反正就是表情包很火的那个搓眼睛的玩意儿), whose population in Yellowstone crashed after wolves were removed. Without beavers to create ponds, wetland ecosystems---aquatic (托福词汇,水生的) plants, amphibians (托福词汇,两栖动物), birds, were devastated (托福出现过,摧毁).
