国会提出法案，禁止联邦机构使用面部识别

面部识别技术导致罗伯特·威廉姆斯被错误的逮捕。罗伯特·威廉姆斯是底特律的一个黑人，他在妻子和两个小女儿面前被警察逮捕。根据《纽约时报》的一篇报道，威廉姆斯被拘留了30个小时，直到对他的指控最终被撤销。国会提出禁止联邦机构使用面部识别的法案。在这项立法之前，已经有几个地方政府已经禁止警方使用这项技术。新法规出台之时，IBM和亚马逊等公司已从执法机构撤消了使用其面部识别技术的权限。

Facial recognition technology led to the false arrest of Robert Williams. Robert Williams, a black man in Detroit, was arrested by police in front of his wife and two young daughters. According to a Report in The New York Times, Williams was detained for 30 hours before the charges against him were eventually dropped. A bill in Congress to ban the use of facial recognition by federal agencies would come after a handful of local governments have already banned the technology from police. Several local governments had already banned police from using the technology before the legislation. The new rules come as companies such as IBM and Amazon have withdrawn access to their facial recognition technology from law enforcement agencies.  source
