Thanks for the email, and interest in our PhD program.  It is a small program (enrolls 1-2 students each year), as are the programs in most business schools.  We generally try to admit the most qualified candidates.  We do look at whether an applicant’s research interests are aligned with one or more faculty, but we also look at GPA and GRE score, among other things.

Can you please share with me the syllabi from the optimization-based courses you took at ***?  I am curious to see what topics are covered and what you have learned.

老师回复的蛮快的，第二天就回了。我觉得比较正面，主要是方向比较fit。但是一看成功申请的phd学生基本都是清北和美本，我是一个国内的211+美top30硕，三围很一般，就很慌，感觉还是要继续套。。我给他回了syllabus之后他也没有再理我。。。我不知道是否应该继续跟进这个老师……
