本人是无名美本一名,原专业是 physics 但最近觉得想转统计,目前13 Fall是大三,所以基本上统计+数学课+CS课所有最多只能选9门课了 (13fall 小弟工作量最多可以是24 units 课)就寻思选些统计和数学的课程以便以后申请,在统计版里看了很多童鞋&大牛的帖子,收获略丰富,结合另外我作的调研,搞出了这个东西,还请各位看看,指导一二,先行谢过! 首先已修过得数学课: Cal 1/2/3 ; ODE ; Linear Algebra (上过但没转过来,算修过也可以说没修过); 13 fall 要修 discrete mathematics ; 修过的CS课: C ; Matlab ; 没修过任何一门统计课。 我调研就是选了几个 phD program 的 Admission requirement 作为以后要修的课程,分别是三所学校的录取标准,摘录如下:
You must have a strong background in mathematics (including, at a minimum, multivariable calculus, linear algebra , and elements of real analysis and a thorough introduction to statistics. Familiarity with C, Fortran or some other higher-level computer programming language is required. (Twin Cities)

A minimal mathematical preparation for graduate work in statistics should include a complete calculus sequence and linear algebra. A strong background includes additional undergraduate courses such as advanced calculus, real analysis , probability, differential equations, numerical analysis or courses in computer science. Preparation in a substantive area, whether physical or biological science, social science, computational science, engineering, or management science, beyond the undergraduate introductory level is an advantage (though not required). Good written and oral communication skills are also an asset, and may be required for some assistantships (case.edu)
An undergraduate degree in statistics is not required, but applicants must have at least three semesters of calculus (at the level taught math, physics and engineering students) and at least one semester of probability and mathematical statistics. A class in linear algebra is also highly recommended, and successful students generally have one or more semesters of linear models (i.e. Regression and analysis of variance). (U of Missouri) . .и
综合下来,大概我得出以下这些课要上:(*代表重要程度,项目里面说要上的话就给一个*) 数学课4门:(虽然线代我上过了但由于没转过来,可能还是要上多一次;MAT 431+432 我看课程介绍是实分析,和@sendavid7介绍的内容一致,我想很可能两门都要上,但431的前置有一门我没上过的数学写作课,可能13 fall 我上不了,除非老师特赦吧; 数值分析最早只是为了个数学 minor 修的,现在不知道值得上不?) ***MAT 316 INTRODUCTION TO LINEAR ALGEBRA (3) ***MAT 431C INTRODUCTION TO ANALYSIS (3) ***MAT 432C INTRODUCTION TO ANALYSIS II (3) *MAT 362 INTRODUCTION TO NUMERICAL ANALYSIS (3)
统计课5门:(270是基础课吧,我觉得肯定得上;371算是“a thorough introduction to statistics”?;473+474应该是数理统计了;471这个听说比较理论,不知道怎么样;另外我们学校开 time series 的课) ***STA 270 APPLIED STATISTICS (3) *STA 371 INTERMEDIATE STATISTICS (3) **STA 473C INTRODUCTION TO MATHEMATICAL STATISTICS I (3) *STA 474C INTRODUCTION TO MATHEMATICAL STATISTICS II (3) *STA 471 REGRESSION ANALYSIS (3)
CS课1门:(看到这几个项目都有些对CS的要求,于是我想要不要修个 Fortran 呢?或者是其他的什么语言?) **CS 123 PROGRAMMING IN FORTRAN (3)
