索要Expert Opinion Letters的经历

今天终于爆人品，发了四个邮件给没有过合作的大佬要推荐信，居然有三个回复同意了("Happy to help" "Of course I would be happy to help"）。
这次的邮件是自己搞的模板，原来律师给的模板似乎自吹过头，回复率很低。分享一下我的模板攒人品，祝大家早日爆绿！

Hello Dr. XXXX,

I hope that this email finds you well! My name is XXXX, and I am currently a Ph.D. student in XXXX at XXX working with Dr. XXXXX.

I am writing this email hoping to ask for your help. Recently, I started my green card application under the category of National Interest Waiver. As part of the process, I will need expert opinion letters from independent researchers with whom I have NOT previously collaborate. Given your expertise and research on XXXX, I wonder if you would be willing to be one of my expert opinion letter writers. My own research has focused on XXX, XXXX, and XXXXX. One of my recently published papers in XXXX focused on XXXXX (CV attached). I have been deeply inspired by your work on XXXX over the years. I believe that your support would be tremendously helpful and important to me not only during this application process but also in my future research endeavors. (讲出联系和为何找对方写信）

If you agree, what I would need is your CV, with which my lawyer would draft an initial letter based on the connection between our work. Then, we will send the letter for you to review, finalize, and sign. A lawyer is involved because an expert opinion letter for green card applications is specialized and different from a standard recommendation letter. （让对方知道要做什么）

I appreciate your consideration and fully respect your decision.  It has been hard to find expert opinion letter writers as they need to be someone I haven’t collaborated with. I understand that one may decline this request for various reasons, and I will make this process as simple as possible shall you agree to be my expert opinion letter writer. （不要给对方太大压力，同时强调工作量不大）
