7月3日 F2 NIE 直飞成功入境美国DP

先简单说一下我的情况，老公是F-1 OPT在美国，我在国内签证F2&NIE。具体时间线如下：


5月14日 沈阳大使馆签证。
      关于入境时间VO问了一下想什么时候去美国，我回答说越快越好。
      在签证通过之后，我又问了一下VO入境美国有没有时间限制。VO表示他也不知道，最好发邮件问一下。

5月17日 issued

5月24日 收到护照，上面有标注NIE字样。

5月28日 给领事馆发邮件，询问F2入境时间。 询问邮件内容如下：

  ”I'm a citizen of China. I just got my F-2 visa with National Interest Exception (NIE) stamped on May 14. Upon the time I'm flying, My husband is in the F-1 OPT status and then according to the NIE policies :
•        “Students with valid F-1 and M-1 visas intending to begin or continue an academic program, including OPT, beginning August 1, 2021 or later do not need to contact an embassy or consulate to seek an individual National Interest Exception to travel. They may enter the United States no earlier than 30 days before the start of their academic studies.”
•        “Derivative family members accompanying or following to join a noncitizen who has been granted, would be reasonably expected to receive an NIE, …”
  May I ask whether I will be qualified to entry U.S. with NIE on July 2, 2021? It is saying 30 days before the start of the academic study, but since my husband is in OPT for work, I assumed I could just use Aug 1 as the start date? Thank you so much for your help! “

等了两天没有回复，决定先买一张7月3日的上海直飞西雅图的机票，如果不行想着再换时间。

6月2日大使馆回复只是问了我和我老公的Passport Number。

6月16日还没有回消息，于是又发了一封邮件询问update情况。

6月29日领事馆回复了邮件，内容如下：

    “Thank you for your inquiry. You are supposed to enter the U.S 30 days within the date on your NIE letter. If your entering date is delayed more than 30 days, you will not allowed to enter the U.S.“

随后又打来了电话进行询问，问我是否是申请了NIE. 我说是我签证发下来就有的，我没有主动申请过。对方表示抱歉把我的case弄错了，让我继续等待邮件回复。

7月1日 领事馆终于给回邮件了，内容如下：

  “Since your husband is already in the U.S., we do not anticipate any issues with your travel plans in relation to your F-2 visa and NIE. We suggest that you travel with a copy of your I-20 and your husband’s I-20, as well as any documents regarding his OPT, to assist airport officials in understanding your situation.
     A visa only allows a foreign citizen to travel to a U.S. port-of-entry (generally an airport) and request permission to enter the United States. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS), U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officials at the port-of-entry have authority to permit or deny admission to the United States.  “

7月3日很早就到机场等候check in。内心也是非常忐忑，不能肯定自己是否能上飞机。当工作人员看到我护照之后，把我领到了一个柜台，说需要打电话进行确认。我当时描述了我的情况。然后对方问到领事馆的回复的邮件，在这之前我把邮件打印出来了，工作人员照着读了一遍，然后要了我的passport number。之后就说可以登机了～

当时紧张的心情一下就放松下来了。

飞机上的人并不多，都是可以躺着睡觉的～

经过了13个多小时的飞行，下了飞机没走几步就到了过海关的地方，人真的很少，都不需要排队。

海关问了我几个问题，于是拿着我的资料带我去了小黑屋（好多人都进了小黑屋）。其实进小黑屋不用紧张，感觉可能是人少的原因，查起来比较严格。在小黑屋呆了两分钟就还给我材料，让我入关了。

海关问的问题如下：
1．        你是来干什么的？
2．        你老公是学生吗？
3．        你带了多少现金？
4．        有没有带食品，种子……

接下来就是来之不易和老公团聚的时刻了～

写这篇帖子主要是为了给和我情况相似的人提供一些参考。也希望可以帮助那些和我一样，不确定是否可以上飞机的同胞们减缓一些紧张。
最后望所有F2的同胞们可以早日入境和家人团聚～

问下楼主，像现在这种情况，如果航空公司的工作人员在check in的时候不允许登机会全额退票吗？还是完全没有任何特殊优惠纯粹看买票的时候的退票的政策？

航空公司应该是不会全额退票的，因为上不了飞机不是航空公司的责任。具体的退票政策建议你问下航空公司。
