L5-6 跳槽经验分享

没想到上一篇问offer意见的帖子火了，大家都在问准备经验，那我今天就来略微写一下，回报地里。

背景
六年经验，现在的厂不是faang但也知名。现在title是sde+tech lead一个组
-baidu 1point3acres两三年前刷过两三百道题，用的python，平常也经常写代码和写design doc。由于lead一个组，觉得leadership/behavioral的问题没什么难度。例子太多了。

如何激励自己学习
我这个人的确不算很勤快，能躺着绝对不站着类型。所以我用番茄学习法来激励我自己每天学习打卡（回到苦逼大学时代）。这个方法对我特别好，我用一个叫Marinara: Pomodoro® Assistant的插件，学一会休息一会，记录每天大概学了多久，非常有成就感。一般都是下班以后七八点开始到晚上十一二点结束。有时候犯懒就八点半才开始。约了面试以后会勤快一点点。我从三月开始打卡，三四五月都比较casual，但保证每天起码学半个小时。六月开始集中一点学。最终大概一共学了差不多200个小时吧。

刷题
我一共满打满算也就刷了不到三百题。不过由于两三年前刷过，平时也写代码，开始起来并没有很难。我记得我和我朋友说，以前第一次找工作的时候刷题特别痛苦，这次刷题感觉还行啊。
这一块我觉得最重要的是理解和归纳总结。理解在于知道为什么要用某种data structure解题，用别的会有什么问题，哪种是最优的，为什么这么做等等。比如bfs的时候用的是queue，然后popleft对吧。谷歌面试的时候面试官就来一句，你怎么改一行变成类似dfs。类似这样的followup，需要你比较融会贯通。刷完以后多想想，再过一遍，不要刷完就以为自己会了。
我有一段时间每天大概刷五六道题，然后刷新题之前会重新写一遍昨天写过的，感觉效果很好。真的会忽然就不知道怎么写了，即使昨天才刷过。我最开始用的是blind上的75题，除去一些难的dp我都过了不止一遍，觉得还是非常有代表性的。spreadsheet好像不让传，大家去blind搜一下就有的。
就不要太追求刷了多少题吧，然后争取每一题刷了都会思路，真正地学会。我曾经也焦虑过自己只刷了两百多题就去面会不会死的很惨。但是第一的确是在职跳槽没这么多时间，第二是我觉得真正理解每一类题其实也就cover了80%的了。面试的时候很少会出非常偏僻的难题，都还是比较常见的题的。起码思路会就可以写出来了。

system design
我之前就在看ddia，然后这次买了grokking。平时还会看一些油管说design的视频。比较喜欢的channel是:UC9vLsnF6QPYuH51njmIooCQ, UCRPMAqdtSgd0Ipeef7iFsKw, UCn1XnDWhsLS5URXTi5wtFTA
我还会看一看medium上的engineering doc，了解下业界怎么做的。还有qcon的视频也不错。
平时lead project的时候也是我写design doc，这一点还是比较加分的，起码知道大概该怎么做。
还有就是每次interview完了我都会回顾一下题目，看看别人是怎么做的，tradeoff是什么，不仅仅是面试吧，对自己的能力也是提高。

leadership
之前也说了现在就lead一个组，我也比较喜欢去沟通和解决问题，去unblock我们组，所以这一块素材上并不难。我先面了亚麻的6，他们家非常非常注重leadership，可以按照star的原则想一想自己的例子怎么组合，面完他家感觉面其他家的behavioral都无敌了（略夸张。
比较常见的问题自己要想过，比如fav proj, how to push back, how to work with XFN team

如何平衡
在offer意见贴里有人问了如何平衡工作和学习。我觉得这就看你当前的priority了。把这些要做的时候当作project来做，在你自己的jira board上面，哪个priority最大就先做哪个。我们公司除了oncall的week其他时候不用加班，所以晚上的时间都是我自己的。有的时候的确会因为白天太累了晚上不想学。在这些日子你可以休息会，学少一些。空一点的日子学多一些，平衡一下。一周七天，我周五是学习时长最短的。就是因为周五觉得啊啊啊周五了好开心不想学习。那我就少学一点点，保证周五有一个session就好了。周日学习时间最长，是因为周日白天可以学会，然后觉得啊怎么这么快要又新的一周了赶紧学啊。心态就是起起伏伏的，不需要全程都一根线崩太紧了。
跳槽和学习是一个马拉松而不是一场短跑，要是逼自己太狠心态崩了也犯不着。

如何选公司
我感觉这一点我其实没有做的很好。我跟朋友说我拿了九个offer都被嘲笑！说哈哈哈你面这么多干什么😂我是觉得面试结果会起码fail一半吧，没想到运气这么好。面试真的是实力和运气的结合。失败了就move on，好公司多的是。特别是startup，他们选人需要非常match，其实有时候你fail了根本不代表什么。我面brex的时候觉得自己答得很好结果就fail了，我也不知道为啥。      
如何安排面试
先面练手公司（麻？）->然后面很慢但是想去的公司（谷歌说的就是你）->然后是其他想去的公司->最后是其他去不去无所谓但是觉得来都来了面一面也可以的公司
Twitter非常快，出乎意料，隔天给结果。snap挺慢的，一个多星期。其他家基本上一个星期内出onsite结果。不行就用pending offer催他们。
现在wfh，有的公司可以拆成两天面，所以要是没有那么多pto的话也可以拆。我最后是请假六天（一个星期+下周一）面了六个onsite。非常累但是效率很高。也保证offer出的时间差不多。

最后我想说我也不是什么大佬大神，就是一个普通人，跳槽也只是人生中的一个小段，我相信大家只要有清晰的目标和持续的努力，都是可以的。加油。

leadership和behavior正文已经写啦。
lc hard也会刷，但是主要focus在medium上。有一些比较常见的hard要会啊比如说stream里面找medium什么的。面试来看medium还是占多数80/20吧。

L5和L4的面试有什么区别？感觉都是coding+system design+behavioral那一套。对L5有比L4更高的要求吗？

我这次没面过l4哈，我听说有的公司l4是不需要面design的
5会对yoe有要求，6年其实正好在5上，面的好recruiter会建议加面试试6
.google  и然后可能要有一些管project的经验吧，就是leadership，有mentor经验更好了
