徐攀博士(https://panxu-ai.github.io/)本科毕业于中国科学技术大学数学科学学院，在UCLA取得计算机科学博士学位，现任加州理工计算与数学科学博士后，即将于2022年夏天加入杜克大学。其研究方向为机器学习，专攻强化学习，非凸优化，高维统计，大数据等方向。

Dr. Pan Xu is an incoming tenure-track assistant professor in the department of biostatistics and bioinformatics at Duke University. Dr. Xu is currently a postdoc fellow in the department of computing and mathematical sciences at Caltech. He obtained his Ph.D. in computer science at UCLA. Before that, he graduated from the school of mathematics at USTC. His research spans the areas of machine learning, optimization, reinforcement learning, and high-dimensional statistics, with a focus on the development and improvement of large-scale nonconvex optimization algorithms for machine learning applications. Dr. Xu’s work is published in top machine learning conferences and journals such as ICML, NeurIPS, COLT, ICLR, JMLR, etc. He has received awards including the Presidential Fellowship in Data Science (2016) from the University of Virginia, Rising Stars in Data Science (2021) from the University of Chicago, and Outstanding Graduate Student Research Award from UCLA (2021).
