莱斯大学电子与计算机工程系赵宇吉课题组2023年招收博士和博士后

美国莱斯大学（Rice University）Yuji Zhao课题组 (Rice WIDE Lab: wide.rice.edu) 计划招收多名电子工程ECE或者应用物理Applied Physics方向的PhD博士生。莱斯大学ECE和Applied Physics的申请截止日期都是12月31日且免申请费，录取的同学都有全额奖学金Rice fellowship。招生的方向主要是以下两个（偏电子材料，半导体器件，光学器件），但对于本科同学不要求有相关研究经历。本科专业是微电子microelectronics，电子工程electrical engineering，材料科学materials science，光学optical science，物理physics，化学chemistry等同学都可以与赵老师联系。有兴趣的同学发简历CV到yuji.zhao@rice.edu。
    Yuji Zhao教授2012年在美国加州大学取得博士学位，师从诺贝尔奖得主，“蓝光之父”中村修二教授，后任美国亚利桑那州立大学Arizona State University (ASU) 终身副教授，ASU纳米中心NanoFab主任，2021年加入莱斯大学Rice University任终身副教授。赵教授主持过多项美国重大科研项目，累计经费超过一千万美元，并多次获得年轻科学家奖和最佳论文奖等荣誉，并在2019年荣获美国青年科学家最高奖项总统奖（Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers），前往白宫接受总统接见。赵教授实验室已经有了一定规模，在学术界和工业界很有知名度度，毕业的学生中有两名在美国大学Top 50工程学院任tenure track Assistant Professor，有两名在中国大学任副教授，其余学生都在知名企业工作。

   We invite Ph.D. Students and Postdoctoral Scholars to join our dynamic group at Rice University (Rice WIDE Lab). Ideal candidates should have a B.S. or M.S. degree in electrical engineering, applied physics, optical engineering, semiconductors, materials science, or any related area. For the openings this year, we are particularly interested in candidates who have strong research background in (1) quantum photonics, quantum computing, and quantum sensing, and (2) advanced materials, devices, and integrated circuits for power, RF, and biomedical applications. Priority, however, will be given to the overall originality and promise of the candidate over any specific area of specialization.
