当时Bruce A. Lindvall给我发的邮件里承诺过Phd不录可以考虑降MS
If your ultimate goal is completing a PhD, then you should consider changing your application to PhD status before the deadline.  An MS degree is not required for PhD admission.  As many as 85% of our new PhD students come to us without an MS degree.

    An MS degree at Northwestern is not necessarily a path to PhD admission.  We generally see our MS degree as a terminal program and not preparation for the PhD at Northwestern.
    You can apply for PhD admission now.  If you are not successful as a PhD applicant, you can request that the department switch your application back to MS status.

是的，硕士好像是415之后才审
