OPT延长至24个月政策急需你的支持评论 否则很可能失败！！！

今天第三次去submit comment，同时也挑了一些“反对者”的comments 看了一下，发现，他们的理由无非几点：不要非法移民，不要我们以低薪抢走美国人的工作... 我觉得针对这些理由的反驳，有很多评论就很值得借鉴，比如：针对非法移民，有人回复“让美国人看看自己的祖先”， 而且我个人认为 他们反对的是非法移民，与我们合法留美工作有什么关系，所以这一条not logical; 其次，针对以低薪抢工作，有人贴出了数据，证明国际学生的薪水不比美国人低，自由市场自由竞争。总结，我们的comments 要有针对性，要有逻辑。第二，今天google了“How do public comments affect the final rule?” 会有一个官方PDF文件，阅读后发现，影响最终结果的不是反对或者支持的数量比例，而是内容，并且内容也只是作为最终结果的参考，所以个人还是认为，提交的comment 要logically make sense，而不是一味追求数量。总结，多次发表评论之前可以阅读反对评论，有针对性的提交自己的评论。以上个人观点，有错误请指正，互相学习，谢谢。

I strongly support the proposed rule. U.S.A. is a nation founded on the basis of Constitution and it’s a melting pot of variety of cultures. People who claim that students with OPT extension of 24 months will take their job opportunities are very short sighted. It’s not about taking up opportunities, however, for the country, it’s about eliminating the unqualified; for individual, it’s about encouraging everyone to be better. With this US can keep its outstanding status in different perspectives, especially Science, Technology, Engineering and Math areas. More opportunities will be created if we have more startups and collaborating more with foreign companies, bringing in more foreign investors. For example, more than 20,000 startups have $5 million average valuation, $104k average salary and 31,999 investors prosper in Silicon Valley area. (https://angel.co/silicon-valley) Opportunities not only exist in the current job market, it also exists in a creative manner that needs time to develop. For instance, the co-founder of Instagram—Mike Krieger had almost left the country. As he said “It took less time to build Instagram than it did for me to get my work visa”. We might let go so many talented and innovated international students who could benefit us a lot in our daily lives.

I support the proposal. Employers in America will benefit from the increased ability to rely on the skills acquired by STEM OPT students while studying, as well as their knowledge of markets in their home countries.
It is a known fact that some developing countries are becoming main force to push forward the global economy.  These developing counties have a huge population, that is huge market. Having OPT STEM students work for American companies can help companies to have a better understanding of the potential international market. Companies such as Google, Facebook not only hire a lot of STEM OPT students, they even hire talents directly from other countries to come to work in America.  Clearly employers have seen the value of these international employees.

今天事情太多，趁着午休刷了两条，模仿外国人口吻的哈哈哈。

I am an international student majoring in Computer Science. I strongly support the OPT extension. In my opinion, the 24 months extension is necessary because:

Firstly, academic and industry project usually last two years or even longer. In fact the research project my research team is currently working lasts two and a half years. And more than half of the research team members are international students, which means that if the OPT extension is cancelled, the research would suffer from lack of experienced researchers and even cannot be finished in time.

Secondly, international students need a sufficiently long time to practise what they have learn from classes and gain a deep understanding of their field of study. When I was applying from graduate schools, it was the opportunity offered by OPT that attracted me to university in United States. If the OPT extension is cancelled, lots of talented students would choose to study in other counties.
