Please use precautions, there would be tens of thousands of employees on OPT laid off because the opt and cap-gap cancelling. They will interrupt the regular training process, it's detrimental for the career perspective for the graduates, tremendous loss of corporation asset, extremely high cost to recover from the human resources overhaul, and BAD BAD BAD reputation on the country if it's still a country that stems from diversity.

Many people were misled asking to revoke OPT extension rule, or even the OPT policy itself. Normally they claim that international students should go back to where they were once they have graduated. While I'm not judging whether this claim is right or wrong, let me show you why we should do the exact opposite to those claims -- support both OPT and OPT extension. A few years ago, British universities suddenly loosened their gates to Chinese students. It became way easier than before for a student to get into the universities in U.K., especially comparing to universities in U.S.. Countless families thus sent their children to U.K. to get a degree from well-known universities. However, years later, when these students came back to China, they found that the competition they faced was severe. Due to the expansion of Chinese universities, millions of well educated graduates came out of school to fill the need of fast developing economy. Big names alone, do not count that much anymore. A lot of families sadly found that they have paid hundreds of thousand or even more than a million of CNY for their children to study in U.K. universities, could only find a job earning less than 40 thousands a year. The return on investment is depressing. Therefore nowadays, families in China are way more ratio nal than before on deciding the place to get higher education. A lot of factors need to be taken into consideration, and the most important one is job experience. Without OPT and OPT extension, there's no difference between studying in U.S and U.K. -- Well, technically, it is easier to get a degree at U.K. than equivalent universities in U.S.. It is not hard to imagine what's going to happen next: great reduction in number of students coming to U.S. for university education. That will result in great reduction in income of U.S. universities. Since no one will pay multiple times more than local residents, who will pay for the part that is vacant due to the absence of international students? Tax payers. Yes, by repelling international students, it will increase the burden of tax payers to sustain the education system in U.S.. A easy no-win situation. So, please think deeper and you will find that support the OPT and OPT extension will only be beneficial for both international students and American people. Thanks for reading.
