Waitlist@Chicago stat Phd

今早收到chicago发来的decision，之前被各种学校拒的已经对decision不抱任何希望了，结果是个waitlist，不过也和rej差不多吧！？
Thank you for applying to the Department of Statistics at the University
of Chicago.  The Admissions Committee has carefully reviewed your
application and supporting materials.  I regret to inform you that we are
not able to offer you admission at this time.

However, we would like to offer you a place on our waitlist.  We received
an unprecedented number of applications this year.  We were not able to
offer admission to all of the promising applicants.  In the coming months,
we hope to be able to make more offers.

If you are interested in remaining on the waitlist, please respond to this
email.  We will consider waitlisted applicants based primarily on their
original applications.  However, if you have significant changes to
report, such as new grades on your transcript or new items on your CV, you
are welcome to mention them.

我觉得有大牛会拒掉chicago的可能很小吧，所以这个waitlist也没啥希望了，不过还是比rej安慰一点。。
