申美国master，PS到底应该包括什么？

之前看了一个CMU的教授的一篇文章，叫你怎么写申phd的PS，但是我觉得他写的不适用于申master。我问UWM的小米，她是这样回复的：we never tell applicants what they can/should include on the statement of purpose.  Most go briefly into their academic background and then what they hope to achieve.  SOP and PS are the same.

大家觉得申这种授课型的master的PS应该侧重什么才能为自己加分呢？
