Cornell PhD offer (updated)

申请的Statistics MS/PhD program. 25号下午收到系里邮件通知 “Admission to the PhD Program in Statistics at Cornell University”

“It is very likely that you will receive full support, but we will wait until we have a complete picture before making any formal offers.”

再等等哥大和哈大。之前录的University of Iowa会尽快拒掉；如果再来其他的也会尽快据。

下午收到Director邮件，confirm full financial support to the PhD program in Statistics.
其他一些信息：“We admit few students per year, keeping a steady state of approximately 25 doctoral students. We find that this allows faculty and students to interact easily and often.” 看来Cornell Statisitcs Dept确实是非常小，我查了查纯统计系的教授只有8个人，研究方向主要集中在machine learning。从方向上来说我还是很想去的；专排虽然一般，自己以后也不准备当faculty，也许学校整体名气对以后找工作有帮助？不知道这么小的系有什么利弊？请大家畅所欲言！
