加州实习用不用换驾照

hey建议楼主查查Iowa的dmv的网站。有时候dmv大妈工作技术并不精湛，只是随口讲讲而已。

这里写道的确大妈说的不全错 - 如果驾照在一个月以后过期，楼主需要有”特殊理由“才可以renew。但规定里也写清楚了特殊理由包括旅游不在，比如很多人冬天避寒度假去了。
也写到过期后六十天内可以renew，六十天是个缓冲期。楼主可以实习好回来renew。

所以我觉得楼主要是现在人在iowa，现在网上renew就得了。驾照过期了就不能合法开车了 （Quote: However, if you are planning to fly or rent an automobile, you should be aware that airlines and car rental agencies do not recognize this grace period and consider the license expired.)，在加州你要是要租车，还是提前renew个iowa驾照生活方便。

谢谢大家回复，决定去办挂失了，最简单的方法。

Iowa是可以网上办renew，但是只能us citizen （第二条）。并且实际我同学iowa驾照过期了半年照样renew，大妈说是过期一年以内renew不用paper test。

直接说自己的DL 丢了 然后直接renew呢？这样是不是就不用管30天了

去了DMV办挂失，另一个大妈说新的驾照是按照原来驾照的expiration date，所有东西都是copy原来驾照的。。。所以挂失这一条路走不通。问问大家，如果要在加州开车，是不是只能去加州换驾照了？麻烦吗？有没有流程之类的，谢谢。
