加州实习用不用换驾照

我有一个问题想请教，我现在州的驾照是7月9号过期，5月份到8月份在加州实习，用不用换加州的驾照？要笔试和路考吗？谢谢大家。

我现在的驾照是Iowa的，但是dmv的大妈说只能提前30天更新驾照。。。还说这是规定。。。

去DMV办挂失，大妈说在驾照过期以前，挂失是按照原来驾照的expiration date，所有东西都是copy原来的。。。所以这一条路走不通。问问大家，如果要在加州开车，是不是只能去加州换驾照了？麻烦吗？

hey建议楼主查查Iowa的dmv的网站。有时候dmv大妈工作技术并不精湛，只是随口讲讲而已。

这里写道的确大妈说的不全错 - 如果驾照在一个月以后过期，楼主需要有”特殊理由“才可以renew。但规定里也写清楚了特殊理由包括旅游不在，比如很多人冬天避寒度假去了。
也写到过期后六十天内可以renew，六十天是个缓冲期。楼主可以实习好回来renew。

所以我觉得楼主要是现在人在iowa，现在网上renew就得了。驾照过期了就不能合法开车了 （Quote: However, if you are planning to fly or rent an automobile, you should be aware that airlines and car rental agencies do not recognize this grace period and consider the license expired.)，在加州你要是要租车，还是提前renew个iowa驾照生活方便。

你在加州办驾照，只用paper test就可以了。但是，可能，你实习结束了，然后你的加州驾照还没到。。。。

而且办驾照需要proof of residence 你实习的话，比较难办吧。。

谢谢大家，我想先问一下，我驾照过期之前（7月9号）用iowa的驾照能开车吗，合法吗？驾照过期了是不是就不能合法开车了？

方案一： 6月9日一到，看看能否在线操作Iowa的驾照renew,寄到Iowa某个地址让同学朋友接收，再寄到加州给你。
方案二：一到加州凑齐所有需要的documents后马上去换加州的驾照，这样你实习结束前收到的概率比较大。实习结束后回到Iowa可以再换回Iowa驾照

过期前可以继续用Iowa驾照开，没问题。一但过期就是非法驾驶了

或者你现在直接选择挂失Iowa驾照，而不是renew。挂失肯定是任何时候都可以。我觉得这个方法最好
