刚给本州的senator发邮件

我刚给本州的senator发了邮件，没有参考啥模版，写得比较剪短，希望表达了意思。
Dear Senator Gary Peters:
         I have been living and working at Michigan for almost four years. I am a legal immigrant and pay state and federal taxes. HR1044 passed the House and will possibly be added to the voting schedule of Senate soon. This bill advocates the removal of the national caps for green card allocation without an increase to the total green card quota. It will give advantage to one or two nations that submitted most number of green card applications. It is at the expense of people from other nations, who will experience huge delay for getting green card.  The immigrants of my colleagues and neighbours come from a variety of nations from the world. We deserve equal opportunities to get green card. This bill is unfair to high skilled immigrants from most nations, even though it comes with name "Fairness for High-Skilled Immigrants Act".  Please vote No to this bill.

Thanks for your time reading this email. There has been lots of discuss around remove county cap limit in green card application for HR1044. I sincerely think it is disastrous to our community and hope you could vote NO on this bill.

1, the H1b system has already been abused by India consulting company. They sent tons of unqualified cheap worker to US every year and abuse this system to replace real hill-skilled worker. Every year, there are 80%  approved H1b applicant are from India. That's also the reason why there are about 400K backlogged green card application for India right now.

2, This HR1044 would remove the country cap limit in green card process and allow everyone to apply with first come first serve principle. The USCIS would need at least 6 years to clear all backlogged application first. It means there would be no chance for people from other country or other background to get green card within that 6 years.  Even the backlog got cleaned out,  these professional outsourcing company knows every detail about the system and they are really good at take advantage of it. They can fill all cap as soon as it open just like H1b application. It's not fair for other country or other background candidates.

3, As a result, it hurt our community as it does not welcome other ethnicity and other culture. Soon, the whole technology would be taken by one nation and one background people. It hurt our diversity and qualified labor.

It's not a fair system in beginning. We don't want to fix it by bring more unfairness to it. HR1044 need to be revisit and re-design. Please consider these information for your decision. Really thanks for  your time and hope you have a good day.

Dear Senator Dianne,

I am writing to oppose legislative bill S.386, “Fairness for High-Skilled Immigrants Act of 2019”, one of the most potentially damaging legislation in the Senate. This legislation and its counterpart in the House, H.R.1044,  is against the interest of America. It favors only one country and one industry, encourages H1b abuses, and allows it to completely co-opt the entire Employment Based Green Card program. From a glance it eliminates discrimination, but since the bill does not include further immigration reforms, it will create more problems and discrimination than we already have.

Here is some of my personal experience to support my points. I’ve grown up in China and came to the United States 6 years ago. I’ve always appreciated the diversity of my studying and working environment from XX University, to XX Bank, and now at XX Tech. I’ve had the opportunity to work, learn, get to know people coming from completely different background like Great Britain, Italy, Greece, France, Germany, Russia, and a lot of other areas in the world. The diversity has inspired me to become a better person, to be open-minded, to be generous, try to think problems in another different perspective, etc. However, if the bill gets approved, the direct impact is a lot of my colleagues from other countries except India will have very little chance to come to the United States and I will lose the opportunity to be inspired by those great people forever which I believe is not for the benefit of the United States as well in the long run.

As a result, I’m strongly against this bill.
