Description
Prof. Yao Ma at the Department of Mechanical Engineering in the Edward J. Whitacre College of Engineering at Texas Tech University (TTU) invites applications for a fully supported Ph.D. student position starting Spring 2020 or Fall 2020. The position cover 100% tuition and fees with highly competitive compensation.
Successful candidates will work on control system and connected and automated vehicle-related projects.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
• Master’s degree (Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Engineering) with a concentration on at least one of the following areas: control; vehicle systems; optimization; machine learning
• English proficiency in both oral and writing skills
Preferred Qualifications:
• Research experience in academia or industry
• Hands-on hardware implementation experiences
• Programming proficiency in at least one of the following: Matlab, Python, C/C++, R
• Previous publication record on peer-reviewed transactions or conference proceedings
