这是收到的反S386组织 Support Alliance of US Immigrants 的邮件。
针对列出来的议员list继续打电话!!争取更多的议员反对。
As you might know, the H.R. 1044 (or S. 386) bill has been temporarily blocked in the U.S. Senate by Sen. David Perdue (R-GA). Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT), the original sponsor of the bill, has said he expects to work with Sen. Perdue on getting his support in order to push for another unanimous consent vote sometime next week.
We believe the objection of Sen. Perdue could be soon met as he said: “I support this bill … I want to work with Senator Lee in addressing these concerns and come to a resolution on this very quickly.”
To prevent the bill becoming law, we need to find more senators who are willing to block another unanimous consent attempt next week. You need to call your Senators right now and ask them to oppose the unanimous consent for this bill. Make sure that they hear you as an "opponent" to H.R. 1044 / S. 386.
Unanimous Consent is used for uncontroversial and harmless bills. Tell your senators that this bill is HARMFUL, CONTROVERSIAL, and DAMAGING for lives of many immigrants. Below is the suggested format for your call. If you have already called, call again.
Second, call and identify yourself as a constituent, e.g., "My name is X, I live in This Town in Your State, and I am a student at/work at...."
Then Ask is to object to Unanimous Consent to H.R. 1044 / S. 386. Make these points:
Unanimous Consent is used for uncontroversial and harmless bills. Tell your senators that this bill is HARMFUL, CONTROVERSIAL, and DAMAGING for lives of many immigrants.
It would sole source employment-based green cards to one industry -- IT -- and one country -- India.
This legislation has never had a hearing. Proponents insist there is no argument against it. Then why have they refused public hearings -- for 12 years?
It will NOT solve the backlog even for Indian IT workers. It will make everything worse -- especially for medical research and health care, for scientific research into climate change and energy efficiency: it's a very long list.
All of Us is a grassroots organization made up of individuals from 54 countries who want green cards.
Please REFUSE unanimous consent for this Dark Money-funded legislation.
After you called your senators, please call the following list as well.
Sen. David Perdue (R - GA) (202) 224-3521 Sen. Bernard Sanders (I – VT) (202) 224-5141 Sen. Ted Cruz (R - TX) (202) 224-5922 Sen. Josh Hawley (R – MO) (202) 224-6154 Sen. Tim Scott (R - SC) (202) 224-6121 Sen. Lindsey Graham (R - SC) (202) 224-5972 Sen. Mitch McConnell (R - KY) (202) 224-2541
