GHC之后的一点不太愉快的感想

I'm a feminine guy who grew up knowing CS was not the thing for me because of the gender stereotypes, and I kept thinking like that until I took my first CS class in the US, where one of the head TAs (who works at Google now) is MtF and she let me know that computer science is not a "masculine" thing. I also know other "sissy" guys/girls who ended up choosing liberal arts just for their "incapability of math stuff", a weird thought stemming from middle school or high school where teachers were always implying like "STEM is the thing for boys". Actually, some of them are super smart kids, and what may change their life is just some positive feedback from the technical industry: "See, women can also code".

So I totally understand why we should have a gathering of women in tech like GHC and it's totally reasonable that the balance of the tech industry is tilting toward women. However, I don't think the segregation of men and women (what about the non-binary ppl?) is exactly what we want - why can't men just show up at GHC and speak up for women in tech? They will be working with women someday anyways. It's like, if there's another career event for LGBTQIA+, straight ppl are def more than welcome to join because A exactly stands for Allies.

Please, don't you assume all male participants are just here for recruiting - GHC is a celebration. If you think like that, you probably also treat GHC as another random career fair where everybody just drops off a resume and go. As you may be wondering why there're no white male participants there, well, some of them are the most sexist in this world.

Disclaimer: I didn't get myself a ticket to GHC (but uploaded my resume to the database and got one phone interview). Orlando is just too far away.

事实上由于国人太多，内卷十分严重，以及一些国内的竞争教育 ...

引申开来是社会的公平和正义的问题，有的时候有了正义就会错失公平，感觉很难兼容。。

在我看来大家的教育水平都远超常人的情况下，地里的言论确实有些极端和不理智了，有些话看一遍觉得self identify，再仔细看几遍，会感觉这是完全不理智的发言。

你看你看，说好中国人团结，一个GHC就让大家吵起来了。
中国人要是整天都想着同胞怎么怎么抢了自己的机会，迟早要被别人都赶出美国。

说的太对了。现在拿面试这么难，有的男生不去GHC根本面试都没有，结果还被同胞抱怨说不要脸，太惨了，还不如回国996呢

男生想去去呗，毕竟大家找工作都不容易。ghc群里男生都挺好的，楼里某些吃相有点不太好看了吧。

这个事情太难讨论了，我是女的我也肯定看男的去参加ghc抢工作不爽，但是国男确实不太好找工作，人被逼急了什么都能做出来，为了留美国去参加个ghc已经算是。。还可以接受的操作了
我一直在想如果我一直找不到工作但是有一张ghc的票在我面前，我会不会去，想了半天也没有答案。。。

. 说的就是拿了面试拿了offer还觉得这是因为自己比女生强自己nb。

对于这种人，傻*就是傻*，跟去不去ghc没啥关系。

其实也没必要吵，男生在ghc机会不多的，女生很多都拿到了offer，男生拿到的面试很多，offer感觉很少。

哎。。GHC初衷是好的呀，怎么这两年变成男女对立了呢。。果然还是资源太有限大家都要吃饭所以不顾吃相了？
