已经fail过一门为什么GPA还是4.0？

这么说可能不太好，但是只占百分之一的作业not a big deal。。。如果是midterm/final project情节严重很多 但是根据lz所说不是这个情况。别的教授们和commitee应该也明白。老师说的没毛病，但是个人觉得小题大做了。有可能这就是这个老师或TA的personality就是如此，可以跟别的老师学生打听一下。

请思考一下老师的邮件本身是否就不合理？如果老师邮件有问题 那么老师也要为此负责任吧

找特别欣赏你的教授们咨询求助，说不定还能帮你说说话。抱紧院长大腿 强调自己成绩这么好不是那种抄作业的人，只占百分之一的作业由于客观情况以及教授邮件misleading（以及主观不够重视）才没加reference，但不是故意的。院长和别的教授们的意见可能有帮助。

即便没到找律师打官司的环节，也建议找律师咨询。这能够帮你确定事情严重程度 明确apeal策略 以及 成功概率。论坛上能给你一些思路和安慰，但是尽量还是找专业人士

最后 任何讨论都对事不对人，别流露对老师的不满。毕竟老师说的没毛病。

非常同意楼上说的，千万不要为抄袭道歉，相当于自己承认抄袭了，一定要以reference忘加了来道歉，除了楼上说的占比太小没有motivation以外，要不你把自己的课业workload说明一下，强调自己最近特别特别累，有特别多的事情要忙，仓促之间没检查就交了，重点是自己没有多检查几遍！希望“疏忽”能让他们不再为难你

我从打听到了负责review我这个case的那个部门的chair，我约了和她明天有个meeting，根据大家的建议和我的想法，我大概写了一下我要说的话，也很有可能会用在appeal letter上。仓促之间写的，有什么建议可以都提一下。谢谢。

First, I am so sorry and I want to apologize. I am sorry that I made the wrong decision. I forget to write the reference for my field trip assignment.
About two weeks ago, I had a field trip that is about watching a college film festival movie. The movie is Animated shorts. It consists of seven different short animations.
That day, I didn’t focus on the movie because I was tired. So I couldn’t remember the movie plots very clear.
Then I emailed my professor and asked her whether a link is about the movie.
The professor advised me to find a short description of each movie on the college website.
I searched it on the website. I just want to search for the information to help me recall the movie plot.
I found that I couldn't finish my homework, so I explained it to the professor immediately. She suggested that I can look for it on the college website. It is not the kind of situation that the professor requires me to write original assignments, this assignment needs some reference.
I don't think I plagiarized it. I just forget to write the reference for my field trip assignment. I am so sincerely sorry.
In addition, this assignment’s weighted grade is just 1%. It is not a paper or design product. In fact, I don’t have the motivation to plagiarize it on purpose for just 1%. I forget to write the reference because in my culture I don’t have the habit of writing a reference for assignments. Another reason I was not educated in the US school before. I haven't fully adapted to the regulations and culture here. In my culture, I didn't have the habit of making the reference before.
I am not stupid enough to copy on the college website, especially when the professor suggested me to go to the college website for the movie plot.
And the professor didn't specifically ask me to list references in the homework requirements. Especially I emailed her and she advised me to search for information on the college website.
I am sincerely sorry. I forget to make the reference.
Please give me a chance again.
I can show you my GPA. My GPA is the full mark. And I got an intern offer and I can show you my offer, next month I will be an intern in a good company.
I really have no reason and motivation to plagiarize for an assignment that only has one point.
Please do not fail this course even dismiss me, if I fail this course, it means all my efforts will be in vain.
