Cornell ORIE 2020 Fall 面经

北京12月5日0:49收到Video Interview通知邮件，DDL是美东时间12月9日17:00

应该基本上所有申请者都会收到这个邮件，主要目的是考察申请者的口语表达能力

人机面试，每人5道题，每题点Ready后先看视频，是一个女教授给你读题目，没有字幕，读完题目后立刻开始计时录像，每题60s作答时间，时间一到自动开始保存，保存需要一定时间，然后continue进入下一题。

我面到的题目：

• At what point, what factors do you decide to choose this program？
• Tell me about the important thing not on you resume.
• Suppose you're going to give a presentation on basic probability, what kind of information you want to know?
• What do you value more, patience or courage?
• Tell me a place you want to visit and explain the reason.
  

根据众考友的分享汇总整理的题目：

第1题一定是下面几题中抽一个

• At what point, what factors do you decide to choose this program？
• 3 factor for you to apply for this program, why you fit this program？
• Why choose this program?
• Why Cornell, why this program, why is it suitable for you and why are you qualified?
• What trigger you to apply for this program?
  

2~5题从下面随机抽取

• Why do you continue your education at this moment?
• What do you enjoy more, generating ideas or making ideas work？
• How would your professor describe you?
• What is the most important thing that is not on your resume?
• The barrier to innovation.
• How do you make a first good impression?
• What do you think western culture and eastern culture can learn from each other?
• Share with us the most interesting news article you read today.
• Talk about one accomplishment that best describes who you are.
• What is your biggest concern in the job search process?
• What is the purpose of a resume? How do you make your resume attractive?
• Are you better at high-leveled thinking or detailed thinking?
• The best piece of advice you have received.
• What is the field you most want to improve?
• If you were told to give a presentation on basic probability next week, what information do you want to know to get prepared?
• Who do you admire most and why?
• The hobbies you do for fun and what do they say about you?
• The recent essay you wrote and what is it about?
• What do you think is more important, patience or courage?
• What do you think is the most effective methods to make new professional connections?
• Define 3 characteristics of success.
• Describe a place want to visit and why?
• Describe an academic or professional failure, and what did you learn?
• What is the unusual food you ever ate?
• 3 qualities you want others to recognize in you.
• An unethical thing you met and how you handle it?
• What do you do for fun outside of classroom?
• Tell me about a place you want to visit and why?
• If you had a midterm coming up in three days, and you have an on-site interview at the same day, how would you deal with this situation?
• Tell me a failure and what do you learn from it.
• The important issue humanity faced in this decade.
• An experience you totally changed your opinion.

港真跟去年前年变化不太大，所以以前的题也可以看看~网上有不少好心的考友整理过以前的题库，所以我就偷个懒不整了直接发个链接咯，还有好多其他人整的哈大家可以去找~

然后北京时间晚上面试的小伙伴很容易会遇到网卡，就保存答案过程失败，页面重新刷新了一遍，导致这道题需要重新答一遍，白天面的网会好一点，个人建议大家做video essay或者video interview尽量挑白天哈，也就是米国佬休息的时候~

有同是今年面的小伙伴分享说在题目没有读完前按刷新可以即刻换题，意思就是说，你发现分配给你的题不好答，马上刷新就会随机换一道题；如果觉得自己回答得不好，录完保存过程中点刷新，就是同一道题目再答一遍。这个我是面完才知道的，我无法验证真伪哈，不过我个人觉得大家当下下策吧，还是面前好好准备是正道哈~



虽然我被录的可能性很小，但是……发上来就当为整个申请季攒RP吧，默默祈祷能有dream school收留我这个小可怜 罒ω罒

我申请的systems engineering，前天收到邮件让我去applyweb上面试，说预计半小时，我猜和这个面试应该差不多？

不知道面试之后有没有收到什么别的消息啊，我做完video interview之后到现在完全没消息，不知道何时放榜

Cornell ORIE暂时还没开始营业，Cornell Tech ORIE的R1 offer已经发完了，R2在等面试
