If the advisor is just  temporary, then there is no reason that he will pay it.
If you will work as RA in his group, it depends on ur advisor... some pays it while others not...
So my suggestion is that pay the 1st semester by yourself, then discuss this w/ ur advisor after you have arrived. If ur advisor is generous, he may reimburse u.
