Google取消了已经同意的数千名合同工和临时工的聘用

Google在2019年增加了2万名员工，今年原本也有相同招聘计划。但在上个月，Google CEO Sundar Pichai表示，由于疫情带来的不确定性，招聘和投资都将放缓。虽然当时Google已经增加了4000名新员工，并有另外1000名员工计划很快开始工作。但Google最近还是取消了2000多名已同意的合同工或临时工的聘用。这些员工在公司内部通常被称为TVC（temporary临时工、vendors供应商、contractors合同工），在Google约30万人的员工中至少占了一半。

但对于这些已准备加入Google的预备员工来说，忽然得知无法入职了，会手足无措。乔利·霍兰德(Joli Holland)是4月中旬被Google取消入职。当猎头公司Adecco联系她时，她正在富国银行(Wells Fargo)担任首席出纳员。经过几轮面试，她获得了入职日期为3月23日的职位。但是当她准备去谷歌上班前被告知，入职日期将推迟到4月6日，接着又被推迟到4月13日和4月20日，最终她被告知谷歌将取消所有临时工的工作招聘。她在谷歌等待入职期间没有拿到一分钱，也没有拿到任何遣散费。而且她没有申请失业，因为她是自愿离开上一份工作的。

我不是Engineering的position。之前Hiring Manager和我说不招contractors 了 unless it’s business critical。

engineering residency不算合同工吧。合同工offer都不是和狗家签的，是和ICC这种签的。合同是指狗家和ICC的合同并不是你和狗家的合同。
