New York (CNN Business) Elon Musk's electric car business exceeds the value of almost all the companies in the Standard & Poor's 500 Index, including some iconic American companies. Shares in Tesla rose 4 per cent to an all-time high above $1,120 in midday trading on Wednesday. At that price, Tesla's market value is close to $210 billion. That makes Tesla the world's most valuable car company, surpassing Toyota. Tesla also exceeds the market capitalization of Dow components Coca-Cola, Disney, Cisco, Merck and Exxon Mobil.  source
