KEEP USCIS FUNDED AND SUPPORT H.R 7508 PLEASE!!!

Dear Congressman -----,
It is my pleasure to have your acquaintance, my name is --- and I am living in --- area. I'm a student at UC ---.Today I am writing to express my concerns about possible USCIS furlough starting on August 3rd due to a lack of funding.
I submitted an OPT application to intern after graduation as a way to give back to American society. Thousands of students like me have submitted OPT applications in accordance with the regulations after getting a job offer. If we cannot get our OPT approved on time because of the furlough, we will not be able to start work on time, causing great losses to the companies that hired us. In addition, the reputation of American higher education will suffer. Many people choose American programs because they value the opportunity of internship after graduation with the OPT program, which programs in many other countries doesn't have. If class of 2020 lost the opportunity of getting an OPT in timely manner on a large scale because of the furlough, then for later students, this advantage of American higher education will become no longer worthy of consideration, as the policy changes will make students easily lose it. American colleges are risking losing international students together with the revenue and diversity they will provide in the future. Stop funding USCIS is obviously an act that leads to long-term losses by looking only at immediate monetary benefits.
Furthermore, this furlough will cause thousands of employees to lose their jobs and create financial difficulties and sufferings for their families, which would cause irreversible damage for all-parties relevant.
Thus, I am writing to urge you to help keep USCIS employees on their jobs. PLEASE support and pass H.R 7508 - To provide supplemental appropriations to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.
