联系Congress要求给USCIS funding

update一下，我们区的议员办公室回复了，说收到了我的信，并且乐意帮我follow up一下我的h1b申请，感觉他们还挺积极的，大家一定要主动表达自己的需求啊！

截止到 目前为止 支持HR 7508 的 议员如下，如果大家看到自己所在地区的的议员没有在cosponsor 上,一定一定要联系议员督促他们support 这个bill

目前没有期限，现在发正好！ 最好在house vote 之前发！ 现在这个bill 还在讨论还没有出什么时候会vote

Dear Congresswoman Pressley,

This is XXX living in the YYY area. I'm writing to express my concerns about possible USCIS furlough starting on Auguest 3rd due to lack of funding.

A little background about myself: I came to US for graduate school in 20XX, got my master degree in Computer Science, and then have been working as a software engineer with multiple companies since 20XX. My most recent (and current) employer is XXX, which I've been with in their Headquarter in XXX since XXX. My employer sponsored my green card application X years ago, and I've been through various stages/obstacles of the application process in the past X years. This year, the corona virus disrupted many people's lives and significantly slowed down the processing of immigration applications. Having barely survived a round of layoff (the XX industry got hit particularly hard, which greatly affected my company), I was very much looking forward to having my green card application approved as soon as possible, because my case was very close to being determined, and also because of the great uncertainty with the company, the industry, and the economy in general.

I just learned my case will finally be current in August, which means my application will be determined by USCIS next month, but it depends on USCIS still being open and them having enough staff to look at the cases then. Unfortunately according to the news, there seems to be a serious funding issue with USCIS, and they may have to furlough a large percentage of their employees if the congress would not keep them funded. Many USCIS employees would lose their jobs, causing financial difficulities for their families. Many people like me who have been in US for a long time and contributing to the economy would face great uncertainty regarding their legal status, causing a lot of anxiety and disrupting important life plans.

Therefore, I sincerely hope that you can be part of the forces to help keep USCIS funded, support and pass "H.R 7508 - To provide supplemental appropriations to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services", so that countless people's jobs and lives would not be disrupted. Thank you!
