The Trump administration has struck a deal with Oregon to withdraw federal officers from downtown Portland, the Homeland Security Department said on Wednesday. President Donald Trump had sought to make Portland an example of his law-and-order approach to cracking down on sometimes violent protests aimed at police brutality and racism by sending federal forces. Unidentified federal agents wearing generic green military-style fatigues and driving unmarked vehicles have been patrolling Oregon’s largest city. Agents have been reported whisking away protesters, freely using aggressive tactics and ultimately sparking even larger counter-protests and opposition from local leaders. source
