Novartis is one of the first companies in Switzerland to continue offering home-based workers to its employees, as reported by the Basler Zeitung. Basel’s second-largest pharmaceutical giant Roche has yet to make such a decision. The aim of the offer is for everyone to be able to independently choose how, where and when they want to work, whether to achieve the best result. Novartis CEO Vas Narasimhan said this when presenting the half-year figures. With Novartis’ offer, many establishments on the Basel campus risk being empty. In order to collect data on how the campus is still being used, employees should inform their bosses if they will continue to work in the office in the future. What happens to open spaces is still unclear, which spaces will likely be leased to other large research and technology companies. source
