我的理解是，对于猎物来说，回避机制生成速度得快。演化理论就两种方式吧，习得（但并不对基因产生影响）而改变的性状和由基因决定而后天表达的性状。对于这里的实验来说，牛蛙存在的时间不够长，那么一般来说个体习得的可能性更高。如果真对基因产生影响，那么就是意料之外的快。

所以最后半句就是，如果树蛙的反馈是基因决定的而不是习得的，他们的演化就发生在很小的时间维度上的。

其实这里第二句说得很模糊，但是没什么用，就是理所当然的结果：牛蛙在，对诱导信号有反应；不在，对这个诱导信号就没反应。

不过至少说明, it's biologically effective.
