黑心牙医overcharge追我要钱 怎么办

牙齿痛去一个牙髓牙医那里做一个consultation. consultation copay 是20刀,都是当场就付了,但过了一个月牙医诊所发来$200账单.保险公司支付了consultation, xray和牙髓敏感检测,但是没有支付这个D3999 就是miscellaneous.打电话一问这200刀说是remove牙冠检查完再放回去的钱,我的牙冠是临时胶水,轻轻一翘就下来了.之前general dentist来回安放好几次,从来没收过钱.而且这么贵.保险公司也打电话了,他们说啊我们不cover这个.我知道保险cover D2920 "recement the crown"我还问牙医可不可以改code,他们也拒绝.
我现在有什么办法吗?谢谢大家.如果不支付他们会去报给collections影响我信用记录吗? 我知道200刀可能没多少钱,但是我总共见了这个医生15min吧,牙冠remove就一秒钟吧.保险公司已经付了他们大概200刀,他们还要因为牙冠额外收我200. 我还是个学生,感觉这样子就被坑很难受.

Went in for a consultation for some tooth pain with an endodontist. the tooth has a crown but the crown was on temporary cement and it took 1 try to pop off and they examined the tooth underneath. paid in copay for consultation during the visit. 1 month later they sent me a $200 bill for D3999. The insurance paid their part in the consultation, x-ray, and pulp sensitivity test but didn't pay this D3999.

I called the dentist's office, they said it is the cost of removing the temporary crown and exam tooth underneath and putting it back on. I had the crown for a while and other general dentist had taken it off and on to check and take X-ray, but never charged me. the whole visit was ~15 mins and the taking off crown took 1 second since it was temporarily cemented. is it common to charge that much for this procedure?
What can I do? I am a student, I didn't prepare a $200 budget for a consultation. The office has 1 dentist and 1 billing person. the billing person is always away and didn't return my phone call last time. I asked to speak to the dentist and he refuses to give any discount or 1 month due date extension on that procedure even though I was basically begging and saying I am a student. I also asked if they can bill D2920 "recement the crown"because insurance refused to pay the D3999. but they refused and told me to get insurance to send a written letter. the dentist also kinda threatened me they are gonna start charging me for phone calls if I waste him more time over the phone. all they keep saying is that's my responsibility, and my insurance told me the reason they don't pay is it is not covered.
Help, what else can I do? I am feeling so helpless and worried. I can't sleep well these days. Thanks

reddit有一个endo office的人回复,说他们从来没charge过拿掉临时粘合的牙冠,这应该是检查的一部分.我可以跟insurance appeal,但是insurance 那边的意思是,你跟我appeal到最后我也不会付这个钱,因为不是cover的.

ice都没用,就拿吹气的那个小钻头吹了一下.而且保险已经支付了sensitivity test这一项

有的牙医之前会给一个预估的费用，我觉得那样的牙医比较好一些。这里面糊涂账特别多。这种虽然可以直接和牙医对刚，但是最好是通过保险公司，你就跟保险公司投诉，正常保险接电话的他们只负责回答问题，不负责处理特殊情况，你通过file这个投诉，他们会有一个专人过来调查，一般都会让你满意，我之前和ER这么干了一次，那次是保险说报销，医院死活说没收到钱，扯了半年，每月一扯。投诉好像不叫Complaint，抱歉我一时间想不起叫啥了

好像是，对。不同的保险公司叫法不同，但是我上次好像是这个。最后会有一个专人和你联系。我当时特别扯，按个人联系完了，并没有找医院，他让医院找他们，医院说没有专人找他们，最后我用两个手机，一边打给这个人，一边打给医院，让他们俩直接自己说。最后解决了问题。要不你家在中间，被各种踢皮球

谢谢 我还差到一个词是GRIEVANCE, 感觉好像这个更针对provider, appeal主要针对保险公司是否报销

总之就是push你保险去搞这个，千万自己别弄，太糟心了
