High-performance Machine Learning R&D Developer

The ideal candidate is excited about joining our team's mission to
bring the very edge of research (machine learning, algorithms, and
applied mathematics) to the most pressing challenges of modern data
analysis problems across industry, by helping us to continue to
define and create the ultimate machine learning system.

Case-by-case consideration will be given to candidates with
experience as professors or well-published researchers at major
R&D labs, for a special senior version of this position -- please
highlight interest in this if applicable.

Responsibilities:

* Design and high-performance implementation of state-of-the-art
machine learning methods, including new/custom methods,
drawing from all techniques of machine learning and statistics,
as well as algorithms/data structures, optimization, linear
algebra, computational geometry, graph theory, discrete
mathematics, and parallel algorithms/data structures.

Required skills & experience:

* PhD in mathematical fields including computer science, pure or
applied mathematics, electrical engineering, theoretical or
applied physics, machine learning, statistics, etc.

* Expert/research-level experience in designing and implementing
mathematical methods, as demonstrated by publications in premier
research conferences/journals and/or high-impact mathematical
applications. Please include your publications, if any.

* Expert-level programming in C++ in a Linux environment, with a
strong MPI based high-performance computing experience.

* Excellent communication skills including fluent spoken and
written English, and professional interaction and demeanor.

Strong candidates will also have experience in the following:

* Experience in mid to large scale coding projects with multiple
developers and a set release schedule, using techniques/tools for
bug tracking, code reviews, smoke testing, unit testing, and
version control.
