Plaid的成长跟fintech的成长是高度绑定的,因为相当于提供了一把掘金的铲子(快捷连接银行)+多功能瑞士军刀(各种aggregated好的financial数据以及经过ML计算生成的衍生数据),只要fintech公司的数量和用户稳步上升,这个行业就会一直成长,Plaid也会有长期稳定健康的成长,为什么呢? 前面说过,fintech的瓶颈是gov regulation不是技术,同样Plaid的护城河也不是技术而是品牌。Yes plaid has an easy-to-use API, 但这太简单了砸钱就能做。Plaid的护城河是跟几千家银行/金融机构/fintech公司的integrations,以及慢慢搭建起来的trust(Can I trust Plaid to connect my bank account to Robinhood/Venmo?)
这里我不知道加息会对fintech的成长有什么影响,but, fintech is here to stay for the long term for sure, so is Plaid

Databricks方面是数据仓储+AI/ML infra,只要随着更多公司adopt AI/ML就水到渠成,确定性也是很高的。竞争对手有Snowflake,各大云平台接下来也会推出自己的服务。Databricks有自身技术(Lake House)的优越性,暂时跟各个云平台是共生关系,但面对谷歌亚马逊微软这种大公司可以拥有的技术人才和生态(捆绑销售)优势,Databricks的技术优越性不是不可颠覆的。对Databricks想更多了解的朋友可以传送到地里这篇很好的文章。
套用Jeff光头的一段话可以比较形象的描述我现在做的决定的思路: “Never chase the hot thing, whatever it is, that’s like trying to catch the wave, and you’ll never catch it, you need to position yourself and wait for the wave, and the way you do that is you pick something you’re passionate about. So, that’s the number one piece of advice that I’d give to somebody who wants to start a company, or start a new endeavor in a bigger company. Make sure it’s something you’re interested in, something you’re passionate about. Missionary build better product, and so I’d take a missionary over a mercenary any day. Mercenary wants to, you know, flip the company, and get rich, missionary wants to build a great product or service. You know, one of those great paradoxes it’s usually the missionaries who end up making more money anyway”

总的来说Plaid目前给我的感觉还是很不错(culture/transparency/documentation/tool and etc)然后这周allhands刚announce了remote-first(我之前面试说的有可能要hybrid,还一直很担心commute)
