面试报销时对方公司需要填w-9表

最近在面试，然后去一家公司on-site涉及到一些报销问题，然后对方公司说需要我填写w-9 才能给予报销。但我的困惑是这原本不算收入，填了w-9之后，明年报税就需要加上这笔“收入”吗？问了对方hr后，对方咨询财务后给出了以下的答复。有小伙伴知道填了w-9会有其他方面的影响吗？我并不会入职这家公司。
对方回复：
The W-9 is required by our company auditors as well as the Internal Revenue Service for every payment that is issued.
We had a recent internal audit last year and I was told that is a requirement not an option.
