休斯顿大学 招收2名博士生 CS及电力系统方向 (Power Systems) Houston Texas

地里的大家好, 我们课题组计划招收博士生2名，电力系统、微网方向。



机器学习是我们课题组现在的一个大方向。目前倾向于Graph Neural Network在电力网络的应用。这次招的电力系统方向的博士也可以理解为CS方向的博士，但应用场景是Power Network；所以也很欢迎CS方向的学生申请。

招生具体情况如下:
•        休斯顿大学ECE学院招收2名电力系统方向的博士生，提供全额奖学金，可以覆盖学费和生活费。入学时间在2023年1月春学期或8月秋学期; 优先选择2023年1月春学期可以入学。欢迎感兴趣的同学申请，请将简历和成绩单发我邮箱xli83@central.uh.edu；如果有托福、GRE成绩，也请发给我。2023年春学期入学申请截止日期是10月15日。

研究方向1：
•        电力系统运行、分析、优化（如机组组合），考虑大规模新能源并网情况
•        惯性预测及需求建模
•        机器学习在上述问题中的应用

研究方向2：
•        微网电源规划、能量管理等
•        离岸海上微网
•        储能建模及其在电力系统中的应用，
•        机器学习在上述问题中的应用

要求
•        对科研感兴趣，对电力系统方向感兴趣
•        有相关研究经验，编程能力，数学基本功，有优化、机器学习背景更好
•        会用一些常见电力系统软件，比如PSS/E, DSATools, Matpower,  OpenDSS
•        会用一些常见数学优化工具，比如, AMPL, Cplex, Gurobi，Pyomo
•        会用一些常见机器学习package，比如PyTorch，scikit-learn

休斯顿大学是美国卡内基高等教育机构的大学分类里的115所最高科研型大学之一。根据最新美国新闻与世界报道的大学排名，休斯顿大学工科全美排名约70，其中电气工程排名约60。

Opening for two fully-funded PhD positions

Dear all,

2 fully funded PhD positions are available in my group in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Houston (UH). The expected start time is January 2023 or August 2023, with a preference of January 2023. I am seeking for self-motivated and enthusiastic candidates who are interested in academic research in the power area. If interested, please send your full CV and transcripts to xli83@central.uh.edu; please also send me your GRE/TOEFL scores if available.

Competitive candidates are expected to have:
•        background in power system operations, reliability and optimization, and/or background in microgrid optimal sizing and energy management
•        programming skills, including Java, Python/Pyomo, Matlab, AMPL
•        experience with power system software such as PSS/E, Matpower, or OpenDSS
•        experience with optimization tools such as cplex, gurobi, glpk
•        experience with machine learning

The University of Houston is classified as “R1 (Tier 1) - research universities (highest research activity)” in the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education. In the U.S. News and World Report, the UH Cullen College of Engineering ranked about 70 and the electrical engineering ranked about 60.

你好，申请时有论文是plus，但不是必须。我们组一半多的phd学生入学时都没有论文的。

你好，可以的，到时按研究需求 通过上课学习或者自学 （也是我们组大部分phd的情况）
