Graduate Research Assistantships available in Smart Cities and Mobility at the University of Hawaii at Manoa (UH-Manoa)
Two Graduate Research Assistantships are available as part of a growing Smart Cities and Mobility Research Group at the University of Hawaii at Manoa (UH-Manoa), in Honolulu, HI, USA. The research group develops and applies data-driven decision-making tools towards observing, analyzing, and anticipating urban mobility system outcomes, focusing on the human and built environment dimensions and behaviors.
The GRAs recruited will work specifically on developing methods that leverage new data types, including human movement trajectories, passive activity and travel data collected through mobile apps and LiDAR 3D point cloud data. Methods developed will inform and integrate with infrastructure design, including municipal and state urban street and intersection design guidelines. Two GRAs will be recruited to work on one of these two projects:
A) Modeling Pedestrian Traffic Flows and Behaviors
B) Deep Learning of LiDAR 3D Cloud Points for Complete Streets Design
Interests and skills in these methodological areas are beneficial:
A) Econometrics
B) Operations Research
C) Deep Learning
D) GIS/LiDAR/Geospatial Data Analysis
GAs must be admitted to an appropriate PhD or MS program at UH-Manoa. Comfort in coding in Python, R, Matlab or similar environment is required. Interested candidates should directly contact Dr. Roger Chen (rbchen@hawaii.edu) or Xiazhi Zhang (xiazhi@hawaii.edu) at the contact information below, if they have any questions or concerns with the positions. If you need a timely response, please consider contacting Xiazhi Zhang in first place.

B)OR优化
D)GIS/LiDAR/
如有兴趣,请联系 Dr. Roger Chen (rbchen@hawaii.edu) or Xiazhi Zhang (xiazhi@hawaii.edu)。
