Last week I departed IBM after almost 6 years.

This was always a layover on my journey to learn about running a Fortune 50 company, expand my leadership skills and experience industries outside of the life sciences. I can safely say I have checked off all my goals from my time here. Along the way I met some brilliant IBMers, some great clients and made some lifelong friends.

I visited 40 countries, 95 airports and spent the equivalent of almost 6 months on a plane and 2 years in hotel rooms!
I was granted a platform to champion diversity, promote a culture of inclusion, to impact the direction of IBM and other businesses around the world.
They also opened the door for me to help some of the largest and most innovative companies across the globe.
Helping companies across industries build or improve their data science and AI practices. Building AI strategies with a wide array of institutions, organizations and governments.

Some of my favorite highlights:

Re-envisioned a new more modern approach to data governance with Jo and Jay in my first weeks at IBM, this ultimately led to Watson knowledge Catalog.
Establishing the Data science Elite Team with Susara, John, Carlo and Vishnu, this model of engaging with clients at our invest to work with them on real use cases in an agile manner. In just 2 years we worked on almost 200 different engagements and changed how IBM approaches new opportunities.
Along with Janine, we co-founded a women's resource group, GROW. Which has contributed to an increase in opportunities for women in IBM.
Implemented an innovative methodology for building data and AI strategies in a human centric manner that culminated in Enterprise Design Thinking for Data and AI with Mara, Keith and Adam.

Being the executive sponsor of the IBM Data Science and AI Profession which had an impact on training, certification, career development, and diversity of the profession inside and outside of IBM including the The Open Group Certified Data Scientist program with Maureen and Martin and the first ever USDoL Certified Data Science Apprenticeships with Ana Echeverri and many others.

Building the first ever cross IBM AI strategy with Kelly and many others, that is now foundational to IBM’s corporate strategy that puts humans at the center of driving business outcomes through focusing on our strengths in understanding the language of business, Automation of workflows and processes and Trust as a core principle of Language and automation but also a value add in and of itself.

Being invited to speak at TNW Conference on stage with Tim Bradshaw from the Financial Times of London with Zachery Bishop. As well as participating in hundreds of media interviews thanks to Faye Abloeser and Sarah and multiple top tier conferences with Ruth and Pam.
Among many others.

The next stop on my journey is very exciting, I will be focusing on doing good and having fun, maybe even making some new friends along the way.
